Early this year, Ivy and I hosted a Content Marketing Masterclass; one of the things I taught during the social media marketing class was the five core pillars of social media marketing.
You need to consider these five techniques before, during and after launching your social media campaign.
2. Planning and Publishing
3. Listening and Engagement
4. Analytics and Reporting
Before you dive into your social media marketing campaign, take a step back and look at the bigger picture; be visionary! The first step to take before launching a social media campaign is to think about your social media strategy.
Now you might be wondering how to devise a social strategy. To create customer-centric strategy You need to ask yourself a few questions like:
– What are your goals?
– Which social media platform will help you in achieving your goal?
– What type of content will attract your audience?
These three questions will enable you to strategies effectively.
2. PLANNING AND PUBLISHING.
Social media marketing for small businesses usually starts with having a consistent presence on social media. A large population of the world use social media everyday. By being present and consistent on social media platforms, you give your brand an opportunity to be discovered by your future customers.
With the increase in the number of social media users. Every business is concentrating on showing their consistent presence on social media. This technique is helping them in showcasing their brand to their potential customers.
Publishing an attractive & informative content is as simple as sharing pictures or videos on your personal social media profile. But if your goal is to promote a business or product on social media then you should focus on planning a strategy for your post. You should be aware of things like:
– When your potential customers are active on social media?
– Analyzing the reach of your post?
– Check whether your post is engaging or not.
– Craft your social media post carefully.
3. LISTENING AND ENGAGEMENT
Your consistency on your social media platforms guarantees growth in the number of your followership. Hence, social media users who are your existing or potential clients will find themselves commenting on your post, tagging you their post amongst other engagement techniques.
Your brand page may not have many followers that can interact with you through comments and direct messages in the early phase of your campaign
Always listen to your audience by checking your notifications so as to attend to their comments and direct messages. If they are facing some issue then try to resolve it; if they are giving some positive feedback and compliment about your brand and product then appreciate them and if they are making a constructive criticism, pay attention.
As you continue to grow, the need to measure your impact and growth becomes important. It gives you clarity!
Some of the questions you might want to ask yourself includes:
- Are you reaching more people on social media than last month?
- How many positive and negative mentions do you get in a month?
- How many people used your brand’s hashtag on their social media posts?
- Is there an increase or decrease in the number of followers?
Social media Ads allow you to reach a wider audience than those who are following your brand pages.
Social Media Marketing allows you to own as many stores as you want.
Promote your product or company videos on social media.
Leverage on copy writing skills to create compelling contents to boost your ads.
